چکیده

With the rapidly increasing integration density and power in nanoscale electronic devices, thermal management concerning heat generation energy harvesting becomes quite crucial. Since phonon is major carrier semiconductors, transport due to phonons mesoscopic systems has attracted much attention. In quantum studies, nonequilibrium Green’s function (NEGF) method a versatile powerful tool that been developed for several decades. this review, we will discuss theoretical investigations of using NEGF approach from two aspects. For aspect transport, briefly introduced its applications on including one-dimensional atomic chains, multi-terminal systems, transient are discussed. thermoelectric caloritronic effects which charge, spin, valley degrees freedom manipulated by temperature gradient The time-dependent behavior also presented regime within partitioned scheme based method.

A systematic approach for a better thermal management of photovoltaic systems- A review

Solar energy is the highly recognized energy source, capable of fulfilling the world’s future energy demands. The solar photovoltaic technology involves the unmediated transformation of sunlight into electricity. A little fraction is converted into electricity and the remaining gets exhausted as unused heat. This results in an increase in the operating temperature of the PV Panel. The conversio...

Mesoscopic thermal transport through a weak link

We consider mesoscopic thermal transport between two bulk dielectrics joined by a narrow wire or weak mechanical link. In the ‘‘tunneling’’ regime where the phonon transmission probability through the link is small and the thermal conductance is much less than pk BT=6_; the thermal current is determined by a product of the local vibrational spectral densities of the two bodies. We derive an exp...

Quantum Transport with Spin Dephasing: A Nonequilibrium Green's Function Approach

A quantum transport model incorporating spin scattering processes is presented using the non-equilibrium Green's function (NEGF) formalism within the self-consistent Born approximation. This model offers a unified approach by capturing the spin-flip scattering and the quantum effects simultaneously. A numerical implementation of the model is illustrated for magnetic tunnel junction devices with...

Heat transport in mesoscopic systems

Phonon heat transport in mesoscopic systems is investigated using methods analogous to the Landauer description of electrical conductance. A “universal heat conductance” expression that depends on the properties of the conducting pathway only through the mode cutoff frequencies is derived. Corrections due to reflections at the junction between the thermal body and the conducting bridge are foun...
